The Pacific Northwest Library for Sex Positive CultureWe achieve our mission in part by maintaining and expanding our library. The Pacific Northwest Library for Sex Positive Culture has a broad collection of over 10,000 pieces - many rare and unusual - and is one of the largest of its kind. In 2009, the Library moved to a new, expanded space and the collection keeps growing. The Collection The Library includes fiction, nonfiction and pulp-fiction books; magazines and periodicals; and comics and pictorials. There are carefully preserved reference and special collection books. In addition, there is a large media and pornography section. Using the Library The Library has space for on-site reading and researching. It is organized by the congressional system, and trained librarians will be on duty to assist you. Members of the Center can check out materials for up to four weeks. If you are not a member and would like permission to use the Library, please write director@sexpositiveculture.org. With permission, non-members can use the library on-site and researchers can check out materials. Donating to the Library Donated items are professionally cataloged by the congressional system and are preserved in an orderly and safe environment. Drop off donations at the Library. For larger donations, please contact us ahead of time. Location The Library is housed by the Center. It is located at 1608 15th Ave. W., Seattle, Washington 98119. The entrance is on the north side of the building. Click here for directions to the Center. Hours of Operation The Library is open during the Center's free Drop In Tuesday Social from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., which is open to members and non-members every Tuesday. We are currently developing a more regular schedule for the Library. Please check back. |
